Social media has been buzzing after a shocking and hilarious incident involving a lady who allegedly pretended to be dead to escape paying her ajo (thrift contribution) debt.
In a post shared by @babyblogger_new on Instagram, the woman, identified as Imisi, had reportedly been avoiding payment.
When pressure mounted, she allegedly teamed up with her sister to stage a dramatic escape.
They recorded a video pretending she had passed away and sent it to their ajo group to convince members of her “death.”
In the viral clip, Imisi was seen wrapped in white clothes with cotton in her nose, lying still to give the impression she had died.
Meanwhile, her sister posted a message in the group claiming they had lost her to debt because she had been threatened.
The incident has sparked widespread online reactions. Many Nigerians called it one of the “wildest debt excuses ever,” while others joked that Imisi deserved an award for “best actress in a financial crisis.”
It remains unclear if she has refunded the money, but the story has quickly captured netizen, highlighting just how far some will go to avoid financial responsibility.
