Dogara Urges Nigerians To Face 2026 With Hope, Unity

Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, on Tuesday urged Nigerians to embrace 2026 with hope and national unity.

Dogara, who is also the Chairman of the Board of the National Credit Guarantee Company Limited, made the call in a New Year message issued to mark the beginning of the year.

He said 2026 could serve as a turning point for the country, citing ongoing economic and governance reforms under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to him, the Federal Government has laid foundations aimed at strengthening the economy and improving citizens’ welfare.

Dogara listed security, economic empowerment, infrastructure development, agriculture, digital innovation and social investment as areas where Nigerians should expect progress.

He said institutions such as the National Credit Guarantee Company Limited would support small and medium-scale enterprises by improving access to credit.

Dogara also noted that investments in roads, rail and power projects were expected to enhance connectivity and productivity across the country.

On agriculture, he said government policies were targeted at boosting food security, while digital initiatives would equip young Nigerians with technology-driven skills.

He added that social safety programmes were being strengthened to support vulnerable households.

“As Nigerians, our strength lies in unity, perseverance, and faith in the promise of tomorrow,” Dogara said.

He wished Nigerians peace and prosperity in 2026, expressing hope that the year would bring progress to households across the country.
