A UK-based Nigerian lady has shared her shocking encounter with a friend during a discussion on marriage roles.
This was revealed in a viral video on social media with the caption: “My friend says she will never share bills with her husband in UK. Do you split bills in your marriage?”
In the video, the lady said she received a call from her friend, and the first thing she asked her was, “Do you share bills with your husband?”
Her friend said she replied, “Yes,” and then asked why she was asking. The lady on the other side of the phone responded, “I can never share bills with my husband.”
She went on to say that paying bills is her husband’s responsibility, not hers, insisting that she would never split bills with him.
She also added that even if she wanted to support her husband, that does not mean he should mandate her to share bills.
According to the story, when the wife was not working, the husband paid all the bills. But now that she has a job, the husband asked her to support the home by taking up some responsibilities. She, however, rejected it, saying she cannot do it.
The video has sparked numerous reactions on social media as netizens shared their opinions.
