By Bosede Olufunmi

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), RS1.2 Kano Sector Command, says it has commenced a nationwide sensitisation programme aimed at reinforcing discipline, and strengthening command and control in field formations.

The Corps Commander, Idris Lawal, said on Tuesday during the sensitisation programme at the FRSC Conference Hall in Kano, that the reinforcement would promote discipline and control in field formations.

He said the initiative followed the directive of the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, over recent unfortunate incidents involving some operatives while on official duties across the country.

“The incidents are unacceptable and pose serious threats to the safety of personnel as well as reputation of the corps.

“The Corps Marshal is deeply concerned about these developments and has directed senior officers to visit all state formations to address personnel and urge them to desist from acts capable of tarnishing image of the Corps,” he said.

Lawal urged officers and men to take collective responsibility and ensure their conduct reflected the core values and principles of the FRSC.

He commended the Corps Marshal for his prompt intervention, which he described as proactive and necessary to curbing recurrent incidents as well as safeguarding the integrity of the organisation.

He called on the personnel to listen attentively to the message and take necessary actions in line with renewed commitment to discipline and professionalism within the corps. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
