National Leader of NDC, Senator Seriake Dickson has advised supporters of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso to work towards defeating the APC in 2027.
Dickson gave the advice on Thursday during and interactive session with editors at Transcorp Hiltin in Abuja.
He said the NDC team is working to defeat APC and supporters of the party’s candidates should join in galvanising support for them instead of bickering within the party.
Dickson said, “Our plan, our assignment is to continue to work as a team, come up with strategies, get to the Nigerian people, get their support, so that we can defeat APC
“That is the assignment. So for anyone who claims to be in NDC, for anyone who claims to be holier than the Pope, anyone who claims to be supporting the candidate much more than we in the party that offered tickets free of charge, if they understand the game they are into, they should be planning with this party to galvanize support, to get ready to campaign and defeat (APC)
According to the national leader, “There is no, no playing games. No points to be proven. No points to be proved. No righteousness to be shown. There is no prize for that.
“The target of all of us should be APC and that is our focus. And we are determined to support and work for all our candidates so that we defeat the APC and replace APC government for the benefit of Nigerians.
Continuing, Dickson said, “I don’t get it. Unless people have another agenda. Unless the plan is to demarket and destroy the party to enable people move on and have a justification. This party has not done anything wrong to anybody, any of our presidential candidates. And I want that understood.
“But let me also assure, from our point of view, there’s no crisis. It’s just that there are supporters that are going public, saying all kinds of things. And as you said, why have people not called people to order? It is the APC that should be doing what people are helping them to do. And that has to stop. That has to stop. “
Dickson had faulted adoption of direct primaries and abandonment of delegate system.He said that is behind the crisis over primaries across all the parties.
He however said NDC will overcome challenges and succeed .” We will overcome the current challenges, which are generic. And by the time we deploy technology, with our innovations, we are becoming the party of innovation.
