In a sustained effort to consolidate peace and security in the North-East, the Defence Headquarters (DHQ), through the Directorate of Defence Media Operations, has conducted a media assessment tour of Operation Hadin Kai.
The three-day tour brought together senior defence correspondents and media professionals to independently evaluate military operations, civil-military engagements and post-conflict stabilisation initiatives.
Welcoming the delegation in Maiduguri, the Theatre Commander, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, reiterated the Armed Forces’ commitment to a comprehensive counter-insurgency strategy with emphasis on non-kinetic operations.
He said, “The Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, remains committed to inclusive, people-centred operations. The Service Chiefs are media-friendly and dedicated to strengthening strategic communication.”

He disclosed that sustained military pressure had resulted in improved security, restoration of livelihoods and enhanced protection of vulnerable communities.
Earlier, the team leader, Group Captain Ibrahim Bukar, commended the CDS for promoting transparency and open engagement with the media.
He said, “Strategic communication is an essential component of modern military operations and a key factor in national security.”
The team inspected key operational facilities, including the Joint Investigation Centre, FOB Tunkushe and FOB Molai.
