The Zamfara State Police Command has announced the death of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Asbagu Aliyu Muhammad, who passed away in the early hours of Sunday after a brief illness.
In a statement released by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Yazid Abubakar, in Gusau on Sunday, it was expressed that the Zamfara Police has lost a committed and dedicated officer.
The statement read: “With a heavy heart and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, the Zamfara State Police Command regrets to announce the passing of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Asbagu Aliyu Muhammad, PSC, DCP Operations, Zamfara State Command.
“He died on 6th September 2026 at about 0130 hours at the Ahmed Sani Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital, Gusau, after a very brief illness.
“The deceased was a senior officer who served the Nigeria Police Force with dedication, professionalism, and commitment to duty.
“His passing is a great loss to the Zamfara State Police Command, his colleagues, and the entire Nigeria Police Force.
“The Commissioner of Police, Zamfara State Command, CP Ahmad Muhammad Bello, on behalf of the Command, extends his heartfelt condolences to family of the deceased.”
