A 200-level biotechnology student at Delta State University, (DELSU), has been rusticated for two years, with details emerging online.
Details of the suspension were outlined in a statement signed by the university Vice Chancellor, Professor Samuel Asagba.
Details Of The Statement
The statement, dated October 21, 2025, revealed that Ezi Ugoma’s suspension stemmed from filming a dying student with her mobile phone and posting the video on TikTok.
 According to the statement, she has been rusticated for four semesters, effective from the 2025/2026 academic session.
However, she is scheduled for resumption during the 2027/2028 academic session.

After due consideration of the comitee’s report, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Samuel. O. Asagba has approved the recommendation of the comitee that you be rusticated for 4 semesters on the offence of assault, with effect from 2025/2026 academic session.
You are to resume studies from effect from 2027/2028 academic session.
It’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time Delta State University has been in the headlines.
It would be recalled that in January 2025, Professor Emeka Chukwuma, a lecturer at Delta State University, was brutally assassinated in his hometown of Asaba.
However, security operatives confirmed the incident and assured the public that investigations were underway to apprehend the culprits.
