Nigerian singer David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has been shortlisted amongst the entertainers who will be performing at the Los Angeles stop of the 2026 World Cup countdown concert series.
TheNewsGuru reports that FIFA made this known in a statement, disclosing that the Afrobeats star Davido will perform at the event, which is scheduled for June 10.
The international football governing body revealed that the LA concert would also feature Diplo’s Major Lazer alongside Davido.
“Los Angeles will play host to a high-energy celebration, featuring Diplo’s Major Lazer and Davido, the first artists announced for what promises to be an unforgettable night of music, football and culture,” FIFA said.
The event is part of a live concert series happening at the same time in Canada, Mexico, and the United States as a lead-up to the global tournament.
The show will be held at the Crypto.com Arena.
FIFA says the concert will include live performances that connect all three host countries, with acts from Mexico City and Toronto streamed during the event.
This announcement follows news from a few weeks ago that Afrobeats star Rema will also perform at the World Cup opening ceremony.
Rema will join American rapper Future, Katy Perry, BAnitta, South African artist Tyla, and LISA on stage.
Last month, Colombian singer Shakira introduced ‘Dai Dai’ as the official theme song for the three-nation World Cup. The track features Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Burna Boy.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will begin on June 11, 2026, with the opening match at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.
