Aliko Dangote has slammed the Chief Executive of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, Farouk Ahmed, saying he is living above his means.
He said that Ahmed should be investigated as the feud between both men renews.
Addressing the press on Sunday, Dangote said that Ahmed was paying $5 million each as school fees for his children in a school in Switzerland.
Dangote said that he himself, as wealthy as he is, cannot spend such money without being investigated.
“Mallan Farouk has four of his children whom he educated in Switzerland at a cost of $5 million for their secondary school education alone, not university.
“When you look at his income, his income does not match paying this kind of fees.
“And even if it’s me paying $5m for six years for my four children, the taxman has to look at my taxes and how much I pay.
“From Sokoto, where he comes from, people are struggling to pay N100,000 for school fees. A lot of children are at home, not going to school, because of N100,000,” he said.
Ahmed is yet to issue a statement or respond to the claims made by the richest man in Africa.
