The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, psc, has ordered the immediate redeployment of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Gwarimpa Division, SP Babale Galadima, to the Command Headquarters for administrative disciplinary proceedings over alleged professional misconduct.
In a statement issued on Saturday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, ANIPR, the CP explained that the decision followed complaints from members of the public and formed part of ongoing efforts to enforce discipline, accountability and professionalism across the Command.
Dantawaye reminded all Divisional Police Officers and their subordinates of his earlier directive to remain professional, courteous and law-abiding in the discharge of their duties, stressing that any act of misconduct, unprofessional behaviour or abuse of office will attract swift and appropriate sanctions.
Consequently, the CP has approved the posting of CSP Nasir Gusau as the new Divisional Police Officer of Gwarimpa Division with immediate effect. He charged the new DPO to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, ensure respect for human rights, maintain civility in public engagements, and align fully with the Command’s strategic security objectives.
The Commissioner of Police also appealed to residents of Gwarimpa and its environs to cooperate with the new DPO and continue to support the Police in their collective efforts to maintain peace, law and public safety within the area.
