CP Dantawaye Miller Assumes Duty as 34th FCT Commissioner of Police

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has announced the assumption of duty by Commissioner of Police Dantawaye Miller, psc, as the 34th Commissioner of Police, FCT Command.

According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the new CP officially took over on Friday, 17th October 2025, from his predecessor, CP Ajao S. Adewale, who has been redeployed for another strategic assignment by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM.

CP Miller, born on 15th October 1971 in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, is a seasoned officer with over two decades of meritorious service. He holds degrees from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and the University of Ilorin, and began his policing career after completing Cadet ASP Course 20 in 2001.

His distinguished service record includes postings in Bayelsa, Adamawa, Oyo, Yobe, Edo, and Kogi States, as well as strategic roles at the Force Headquarters, Abuja. He has served as Escort Commander to the President, Assistant Commissioner (CID), and Commissioner of Police, IT Department, among others.

The Command noted that CP Miller is widely respected for his professionalism, training in counter-terrorism, leadership, and VVIP protection.

Upon assumption of duty, CP Miller pledged to strengthen community policing frameworks and sustain existing security structures to ensure the safety of residents of the FCT.

The Command also appealed to residents to support the police in maintaining peace and security across the capital.
