A counter-protest against the release of Nnamdi Kanu, detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has commenced in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The video of the counter-protest was shared on Facebook by one Pastor Gyemu on Monday.
DAILY POST reports that protesters had earlier converged to demand the release of Nnamdi Kanu, who has been in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) since June 2021.
The rally was part of renewed calls by his supporters for the federal government to comply with previous court rulings ordering Kanu’s release.
However, counter-protesters began to gather around the FCT to express their disapproval of Kanu’s release.
