Back in the days, na those couples go kon pay”

@lexmelvis12 said: “Make the conductor enter another public transport, run the same scam, highest dem go beat shege comot from him body”

@legal_padi remarked: “This is funny until you remember the law sha.

Under the CBN Act, anything that resembles the Nigerian currency in a way that can confuse the public is treated as counterfeit imitation.

It doesn’t matter that it’s “wedding money” or for cruise, once it looks like the N1,000 note and enters circulation, you’re already in the territory the law frowns on.

Section 20 of the Act is very clear, only the CBN can issue notes, and any imitation capable of passing as currency is an offence with an imprisonment of up to 5 years (Section 20(4)).

So beyond the jokes, the implication is simple, if this thing keeps spreading, the couple may explain themselves faster than they planned.

Love is sweet, but CBN no dey smile”
