Complainants Hail AIG Fayoade Over Swift Approval of Petitioners, Transforming Zone 2 Command

BY PAUL IYOGHOJIE

Concerned petitioners and complainants who throng the Nigeria Police Zone 2 Command, Onikan, Lagos to summit their petitions for approval have hailed Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Adegoke Fayoade in charge of Zone 2 Command, Lagos for changing the operational narratives at the Command and restoring its lost glory just within a year in office by swiftly approving complainants’ petitions and charging suspects to Court within the stipulated time.

The petitioners commended AIG Fayoade of touching the hitherto untouchable criminal elements in Lagos and Ogun States who have been boasting that nobody can do anything to take them to Court.

Some of the petitioners who spoke to our Correspondent, on conditions of anonymity for security reasons, stated that with way AIG Fayoade had transformed the Zone 2 Command to ensure seamless service to the public, the top cop is the best AIG ever posted to the Zone 2 while the Command is the Best Police formation in Nigeria today where petitioners don’t need to know anyone or pass through pains before their petitions are approved same day they submitted them.

They appealed to other complaints out there who are not satisfied with the way their cases are being handled in Police formations in Lagos and Ogun States jurisdictions of the Zone 2 Command to urgently take their petitions to the Command under the headship of AIG Fayoade for swift solution.

The petitioners thanked the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun for his foresight in deploying Fayoade to the Zone to restructure and reposition the Command for efficient service delivery to public.

“I will never forget the day I took my petition of threat to life to the Zone 2 Command,” a petitioner resident in Ikorodu, Lagos recalled, “I had dropped the petition with the Police Officers on duty to be expecting response at a later date as usual. But the female officer at the AIG’s office politely told me to wait like others to summit my petition to AIG himself. I was shocked to my bone marrow because Police Officers didn’t allow me to see the AIG when I submitted the same petition in 2023 and I didn’t hear anything about the petition till date.

“I was surprised AIG Fayoade attended to me personally, approved my petition and handed me over to an IPO. The suspects who had been been boasting that nobody can do anything to them had been arrested and charged to court and  the operational characteristics and the open door policy of the AIG Adegoke Fayoade have changed my negative mindsets of the Nigeria Police to positive,” he stated.

Another complainant from Ajangbandi area of Lagos, also narrated his experience: “I reported a case of violent attack with weapons on me and my workers at a site to the Divisional and Area Police Command in my area and arrested some of the suspects, but I was surprised the Police released the suspects without out my consent and suspects later threatening my life. I later took the same petition to AIG Adegoke Fayoade and he approved the petition same day and some of the suspects had been arrested and charged to court. I thanked AIG Fayoade for his transparency in the discharge of his duty and for modernising Police operations at the Zone  2  Command, he said.

Our investigation revealed that what has led to the Police proactive operations in the Zone is that since Fayoade enlisted into the Nigeria Police as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP, he had been in Operations handling complainants transparently and fighting criminality.

Fayoade started his security excellence as a Divisional Police Officer in charge of Okota Division, Isolo and later at MAN Centre Division, Ikeja, Lagos.

He was later deployed to the Ilupeju and Bar Beach divisions, Victoria Lagos from where he was promoted to the rank of Assistant  Commissioner of Police, ACP and posted to the Sango-Ota Area Command, Ogun State.

Fayoade was promoted again to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police, and posted to the SCID, Panti, Yaba as DCP in charge and later promoted to the rank of Commissioner of Police, CP and deployed to Force Headquarters, Abuja as CP in charge of Armament. From there, he was later posted to the Lagos State Police Command as the CP in charge.

He was later promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police and deployed to the Zone 2 Command as AIG in charge where he is currently redeeming the image of Nigeria Police to the delights of petitioners.
