‎The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, has ordered troops of the 4 Special Forces Command to intensify high-impact operations and decisively crush terrorists and insurgents across the country.

‎Shaibu gave the charge during his maiden operational visit to the Command on Tuesday in Doma, Nasarawa State.

‎Addressing troops of the 4 Special Forces Command and the Nigerian Army Special Forces School, the Army Chief declared that the era of reactive engagements was over, stressing that terrorists and violent criminals would no longer find sanctuary anywhere in Nigeria.

‎He emphasised that the Special Forces remain at the forefront of efforts to dismantle criminal networks threatening national security, urging them to sustain precision-driven and intelligence-led operations.

‎“The evolving security environment demands speed, surprise and superior combat readiness,” he said, charging personnel to remain proactive, adaptive and mission-focused in dominating the battlespace.

‎Earlier, Shaibu received operational briefings from the Commander, 4 Special Forces Command, Maj.-Gen. Olurotimi Azubuike Awolo, and the Commandant, Nigerian Army Special Forces School, Brig.-Gen. Umar Faruk Abubakar.

‎He expressed satisfaction with the operational outlook and training standards, approving the immediate construction of additional accommodation blocks and critical facilities to boost training and enhance troops’ welfare.

‎Shaibu assured officers and soldiers that their welfare and that of their families remained a top priority under his leadership, pledging sustained investment in training, logistics and modern combat enablers.

‎In a symbolic gesture, the COAS and Principal Staff Officers also planted trees within the cantonment to promote environmental sustainability.
