The Founder of the Clear Revelation Ministry, Apostle Oluwarotimi Adeyeye, has urged President Bola Tinubu to shelve his plan to seek re-election in 2027, citing concerns over the economic and security situation in the country.
Adeyeye made the call during an interactive session with newsmen at the weekend, where he expressed concern over the state of the nation and the impact of the economic situation on Nigerians.
According to the cleric, political leadership in the country has failed to adequately address the challenges confronting citizens, particularly those at the grassroots.
“The country is not well. It is not rosy for people. It is only those on top of the ladder that are doing what they like. If they want to buy two planes or even one dozen, they have the money but the people at the grassroots are suffering,” he said.
Adeyeye said the hardship in the country had also contributed to an increase in the number of beggars, stressing that the situation required urgent attention from the political leadership.
He appealed to Tinubu not to contest the 2027 presidential election, saying his position was based on his assessment of the country’s situation and not on ethnic considerations.
“I am just beseeching Tinubu not to contest election in 2027. It is not about Tinubu and I being Yoruba men. If I can tell you, Tinubu has helped prop many people to attain their goals in life but he may not achieve his goal of re-election in 2027.
“What is ahead is bigger than any personality. If I were him, I will not contest. That is my advice for him,” Adeyeye said.
The cleric, however, acknowledged Tinubu’s achievements, describing him as a leader who had helped many people attain their goals in life.

Adeyeye expressed concern that continued economic hardship could affect the President’s political fortunes in 2027 if the situation did not improve.
“If he insists on continuing and things are not getting better in Nigeria, as one kilogram of cooking gas is around N1,500, one litre of petrol is around N1,300; these are things that can make the common people to live easy life. Nigeria will not favour him in 2027.
“I don’t see anybody in Nigeria and Africa who has had breakthrough like Tinubu,” he said.
Adeyeye also urged Nigerians to seek the face of God in addressing the challenges confronting the country, particularly concerns over an alleged plan to turn Nigeria into a one-religion state.
He said those advocating such a development were acting against God’s intentions for humanity.
“Those who have the mind to turn the country to one religion state are just playing. All their thoughts are not of God.
“If God had wanted the whole world to be in one accord, he wouldn’t have divided it in the lines of languages and ethnicities. So no one can make things that God did not make,” he said.
