A Canadian national identified as Sullivan was on Tuesday found dead in his hotel room on Victoria Island, Lagos State.
The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of October 7, just five days after the deceased checked into the hotel on October 2.
According to a hotel attendant who spoke to Vanguard on condition of anonymity, the guest was discovered lifeless on the floor of his room after staff members were unable to reach him.
The hotel’s Chief Security Officer (name withheld) subsequently reported the incident to the Victoria Island Police Division around 4:30 p.m.
A police team was immediately dispatched to the scene, where detectives photographed and examined the area. Police sources said there were no visible marks of violence on Sullivan’s body, suggesting no immediate sign of foul play.
The body was later evacuated to the Lagos Island General Hospital, Marina, where a medical officer confirmed him dead. His remains have since been deposited in the hospital’s morgue for preservation and autopsy.
While preliminary investigations have not indicated homicide, the Lagos State Police Command said further inquiries are ongoing to determine the exact cause of death.
