Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has revealed that he has now embraced Islam after years of personal reflection and spiritual search.
The Afro-fusion star made the revelation during a Twitch livestream with US streamer PlaqueBoyMax, where he opened up on his upbringing, faith, and what led to his decision to follow Islam.
“I Was Born Christian, But Now Found Peace in Islam”
Speaking about his background, Burna Boy explained that he was raised in a Christian home, following the beliefs of his parents.
However, as he grew older, he began to question certain things about life and faith, which pushed him to seek deeper meaning.
“I was born into Christianity because that’s what my parents practiced. But as I got older, I started to research more about life and faith. That was when I found Islam,” he said.
The singer emphasized that his decision wasn’t based on rebellion or pressure from anyone, but rather on a personal conviction that brought him calmness and direction.
“It was something that came naturally to me. I just felt a connection and peace,” Burna Boy added.
