“Build yourself before expecting to marry rich” — Actor Uzor Arukwe advises single ladies

Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe has urged single women to focus on building themselves and becoming valuable before expecting to marry rich or caring men.

The actor, known for his versatility and depth in movie roles, gave this advice in a post shared on his X handle, stressing that genuine men are naturally drawn to industrious and self-sufficient women.

According to him, women who invest in their personal growth, skills, and careers stand a better chance of attracting quality partners who will value and support them.

He noted that waiting for a wealthy man without having one’s own purpose or stability is unrealistic in today’s world.

Build value for yourself first, and your Odogwu will locate you to become your helpmate that makes everything easier to handle,” Arukwe wrote, encouraging women to work on themselves before seeking romantic partnerships.

Inspiration from his movie role

Arukwe’s message was inspired by reactions to his character, Odogwu, a wealthy and affectionate lover in the film Love In Every World 2. Viewers flooded social media with admiration, describing the character as their “ideal man” and praising his romantic gestures.

However, the actor reminded fans that Odogwu’s love interest, Chioma, played by Bambam, was already a strong, hardworking woman before receiving any support from her billionaire lover.

He said that Odogwu recognised Chioma’s worth instantly, which made their relationship meaningful and balanced.

The billionaire didn’t even need to ask what she brings to the table because it was clear she’s an industrious woman,” he explained, noting that true partnership is built on mutual value and not dependency.

A call for value and balance in relationships

Uzor Arukwe’s statement has sparked conversations across social media, with many praising his realistic take on love and partnership.

Some fans agreed that financial independence and emotional maturity remain vital foundations for a lasting relationship.

He further emphasised that marriage should not be seen as a shortcut to wealth or comfort, but rather as a union between two capable and purposeful individuals.

His advice resonates strongly in an era where social media often glorifies materialism in relationships.

By urging women to prioritise growth and independence, Arukwe joins a growing number of Nigerian celebrities promoting self-worth and balance in modern relationships.
