BREAKING: Presidency Dismisses Viral Claim of Alleged Plot to Poison Tinubu

The Presidency has refuted a viral video circulating on social media which alleged that a chef working within the Presidential Villa was arrested over an alleged attempt to poison President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The video had claimed that security operatives apprehended a staff member attached to the presidential kitchen after intelligence reports indicated suspicious activities related to food preparation in restricted areas of the Villa. It further suggested that the arrest led to the deployment of a special police squad and heightened security measures within the presidential premises.

According to the report, the alleged suspect was taken into custody for questioning as part of an investigation into what was described as a credible threat to the President’s safety.

However, the Presidency has dismissed the claims as entirely false.

Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, described the video as fake news, stressing that the allegation was fabricated and should be disregarded by the public.

He urged citizens to rely only on official sources for verified information and warned against the spread of unverified reports capable of creating unnecessary panic.

The development comes months after security agencies arrested some military personnel over an alleged plan to overthrow the government. Reports also indicated that a staff member of Julius Berger Nigeria Plc working at the Presidential Wing of the State House was among individuals questioned in connection with the alleged coup plot.

Sources revealed that the staff member, reportedly from the South-South region and deployed to the State House in 2022, works in the electrical department of the construction firm. A colleague, who spoke anonymously, expressed surprise at the development, noting that the individual was relatively new to the State House environment.See_More…
