BREAKING: Panic As Detectives Recover Lifeless Body Of Teenage Boy Near UI Swimming Pool

Detectives of the Oyo state police command have recovered the lifeless body of an unidentified teenage boy near the swimming pool of the University of Ibadan.

In a statement on Saturday, Olayinka Ayanlade, the command’s spokesperson, said the incident occurred on March 26, following a report from the institution’s chief security officer.

He noted that the body of the victim, believed to be between 14 and 15 years old, was found floating on the surface of the swimming pool.

“Detectives promptly visited the scene, where preliminary observations revealed that the body had been removed from the pool and placed beside it,” he said.

“Blood was observed oozing from the mouth and nose, with slight bruises on the nose.

“Items suspected to belong to the deceased, including a pair of shoes and a shirt, were found close to the pool, while blood stains were also observed within the pavilion area.

“The body was evacuated to the General Hospital, Adeoyo, Ibadan, where he was confirmed dead on arrival and subsequently deposited at the mortuary.”

Ayanlade said the case is being treated as a suspected murder, adding that a thorough investigation has commenced to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident.

He urged the public to remain calm and refrain from spreading unverified information as investigations continue.
