According to a report by Al Jazeera, on Friday March 27, 2026, twenty-five workers were killed across various parts of Iran’s Isfahan Province following recent US-Israeli military strikes, the region’s governor confirmed, as rescue teams worked through rubble at multiple targeted sites.
Isfahan Governor Mehdi Jamalnejad disclosed the death toll on Wednesday, according to Iran’s Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), detailing the scale of destruction left behind by the attacks across the province.
Jamalnejad said two power plants located in Mobarakeh County bore the brunt of the strikes, with facilities holding combined generation capacities of 914 megawatts and 250 megawatts rendered inoperable. The attacks also struck a production complex in the area, while a section of the Mobarakeh Steel production workshop sustained significant damage.
Relief forces and rescue teams were deployed to the affected locations and were actively clearing debris from the targeted sites, the governor added.
The strikes represent a significant blow to the province’s industrial infrastructure, with Mobarakeh Steel being one of Iran’s largest and most strategically important steel manufacturing operations.
Isfahan Province, located in central Iran, is home to several critical industrial facilities and has long been regarded as a cornerstone of the country’s manufacturing and energy sectors.
Iranian authorities have not yet released further details regarding the timeline of the attacks or the identities of the workers killed. No immediate statement was issued by US or Israeli officials in response to the governor’s claims.
