Salisu Nafiu, husband of the woman who gave birth to quintuplets at Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital in Kano, has spoken with deep sorrow that his wife, Hafsat Yusuf, died only hours after the delivery, while all five babies survived and are under medical care.
According to report by CHANNELSTV on Thursday March 26 2027, Hafsat underwent a Caesarean section around 2 p.m. on Wednesday, successfully delivering three boys and two girls. However, tragedy struck when she passed away at about 1 a.m. the following morning.
Despite the grief, Nafiu expressed relief that the quintuplets are alive and stable.
Salisu noted that the birth was particularly remarkable as it was Hafsat’s ninth childbirth, making the arrival of five babies at once both extraordinary and emotionally overwhelming for the family.
Salisu said, “She delivered the babies successfully in the afternoon, but we lost her in the early hours of today. It is a painful loss for our family.”
