The leadership of the National Assembly on Tuesday held a meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Naija News reports that the lawmakers arrived at the State House in the afternoon and were seen at the forecourt of the Presidential Villa around 3:30 p.m.
Those present included Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas and Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu.
The Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, was also part of the meeting.
The gathering at the Presidential Villa lasted for about thirty minutes.
The lawmakers left the premises at around 4:00 p.m. without speaking to journalists who were waiting outside.
As of the time this report was filed, details of the discussion between the president and the legislative leaders had not been made public.
Earlier in the day, members of the Senate and the House of Representatives returned to plenary sessions after postponing their earlier resumption date.
Lawmakers had originally planned to resume on February 24 but delayed the sitting so committees could complete budget defence meetings with ministries, departments and agencies.
The meeting between the president and the National Assembly leaders took place about a week after Tinubu hosted senators and members of the House of Representatives to separate Ramadan Iftar gatherings at the Presidential Villa.See_More…
