BREAKING: 5-Star Chelsea Thrash Dismal West Ham To Top. EPL Table

Naijaonpoint Nigeria reports that Chelsea delivered a commanding performance, thrashing West Ham United 5-1 in a thrilling Premier League clash at London Stadium on Friday night.

The Blues overcame an early setback to showcase their attacking prowess, with goals from João Pedro, Pedro Neto, Enzo Fernández, Moisés Caicedo, and Trevoh Chalobah sealing a decisive victory in their second match.

The match exploded into life in the 6th minute when West Ham’s Lucas Paquetá ignited the home crowd with a stunning strike.

Weaving through Chelsea’s defence, Paquetá unleashed a magnificent effort from the edge of the box that soared into the top right corner, leaving goalkeeper Robert Sánchez helpless.

The 1-0 lead sent the London Stadium into raptures, but the celebrations were short-lived.

Chelsea responded swiftly, equalizing in the 15th minute through João Pedro. Marc Cucurella delivered a precise ball into the area, and Pedro’s glancing header found the back of the net, making it 1-1.

West Ham thought they had regained the lead two minutes later when Niclas Füllkrug fired past Sánchez, but the goal was disallowed after a VAR review confirmed an offside in the build-up, a decision that deflated the Hammers’ momentum.

The Blues capitalized on their reprieve, taking the lead in the 23rd minute with a moment of brilliance from Pedro Neto.

Perfectly timing his run, Neto latched onto a cross and thundered a shot into the top left corner, leaving West Ham’s defence stunned.

By the 34th minute, Chelsea extended their lead to 3-1, as 18-year-old Estêvão provided a pinpoint pass to Enzo Fernández, who slotted a low shot into the middle of the goal.

The second half saw Chelsea maintain their dominance, exploiting West Ham’s defensive frailties. In the 54th minute, Caicedo pounced on a costly error by West Ham goalkeeper Mads Hermansen, firing home from inside the box to make it 4-1.

Just four minutes later, Chalobah added a fifth, capitalizing on a deflected shot inside the box to put the game beyond West Ham’s reach.

West Ham, under the guidance of manager Graham Potter, struggled to regain their footing after the early setback.

Despite flashes of promise from Jarrod Bowen and Paquetá, the Hammers were outclassed by Chelsea’s relentless attack and clinical finishing.

The home side’s defense, anchored by Max Kilman and Nayef Aguerd, was repeatedly exposed, with fans voicing their frustration as the scoreline widened.
