Benjamin Called Me, Said Augusta Has Never Cheated On Him But She’s Planning To Cheat On Him- Mother

According to a report by Channels Television, on Friday, March 6, 2026, as she testified before Justice Ibironke Harrison at the Lagos State High Court in Igbosere, Lagos Island, Cordelia Onuwabhagbe, the second prosecution witness in Benjamin Best Nnayereugo’s (or “Killaboi”) murder trial, got visibly upset.

The 56-year-old government employee testified that her late daughter Augusta had told her on December 1, 2021, that the defendant had started seeing someone romantically.

Augusta brought him home on December 8, and she met him later. She accepted him, and he visited their home frequently after that, she added.

According to Mrs. Onuwabhagbe, Augusta was a senior at Lead City University in Ibadan, where she studied medical laboratory science. In addition, she stated that in November 2022, while the pair was away on a holiday, worries about the relationship started to surface.

According to her, the defendant informed her that the funds for the trip were earned through a sports betting site, with a portion of them being invested through his uncle. The defendant allegedly attacked her kid and broke her phone during the trip, which led her to believe that the relationship had become violent.

According to her, he then expressed regret to the family and vowed that such behaviour would not occur again; Augusta then convinced them to give him another opportunity.

Additionally, Mrs. Onuwabhagbe informed the court that her daughter experienced a troubling development in July 2023 when she perceived a threat from the defendant.

According to her, Benjamin contacted her on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at around 9 or 10 o’clock in the evening, and he informed her that, despite the fact that Augusta has never cheated on him before, she is intending to do it now.

My next question was, “What happened?” According to him, he pretended to be someone else and invited her to Lagos over the phone as a loyalty test. He said that she consented to travel to Lagos to be with another man without realising it was him.

According to what Mrs. Onuwabhagbe told the court, she also warned the defendant, saying that she had never expected her daughter to act this way. She continued by telling him that Augusta will return home in approximately two weeks after finishing her school program, and that the situation would be handled appropriately.

According to her testimony, Augusta contacted her again not long after the phone call concluded to let her know that the defendant had accessed her Instagram account and deactivated her account.

A social media influencer’s daughter reportedly begged the witness to step in and convince the defendant to give up the account. Reportedly, Augusta stated her intention to terminate the relationship immediately upon the account’s restoration.

According to Mrs. Onuwabhagbe, she then contacted the defendant by phone and asked him to give over the Instagram account. She testified before the court that he promptly restored Augusta’s access after receiving the request.See_More…
