Nollywood actress and engineer, Etinosa Idemudia has sparked mixed reactions online as she opines that acting is far more demanding than engineering.
She made this known while being featured in a recent interview.
The actress, who previously worked as an engineer before venturing into the entertainment industry, explained that her experience in both fields gave her a clear understanding of the unique challenges each profession presents.
According to her, acting requires immense emotional involvement, long working hours, and the ability to constantly adapt to different roles and environments.
Etinosa describes acting as mentally tasking
She described the job as mentally and physically draining, often leaving little room for rest or personal life.
Etinosa noted that while engineering follows a more structured and predictable routine, acting involves uncertainty and continuous creative pressure to deliver convincing performances.
Her words …
“I’ve been an engineer and I’ve been an actor and I can, I dare say, no offense to my colleagues in the engineering world, but I dare say that being an actor is much more tasking. It’s a crazy kind of work. It’s a mad people work. Don’t let those people that close by 5 p.m. to come and be insulting us.”
Etinosa’s engineering background
Before gaining prominence in Nollywood, Etinosa Idemudia earned a degree in computer engineering from Covenant University, one of Nigeria’s leading private institutions.
After graduation, she worked briefly as an engineer before deciding to follow her passion for acting and filmmaking.
