Gov. Umaru Bago of Niger has called on electorates across the state to come out en masse and vote for candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the November 1, 2025, local government elections.
Bago made the call while inaugurating the APC campaign ahead of the forthcoming November 1, council elections in Minna on Saturday.
He expressed optimism that the ruling party would emerge victorious in all the 25 Chairmanship and 274 Councillorship positions.
The Governor commended party members across the state for their steadfastness, loyalty, and unwavering support to his administration and that of President Bola Tinubu.
He urged them to sustain their commitment and continue to work towards ensuring the success of the APC at all levels.
The governor reiterated the commitment of the present administration at all levels to making life better for the citizens.
Bago also charged APC stakeholders and supporters in the state to work assiduously to ensure the party comes out victorious in the forthcoming council elections.
While applauding the party members across the state for their commitment and unwavering support to his leadership and that of Tinubu, he called for continuous support to the party.
He stressed that the Federal and state governments were partnering to ensure the security challenges confronting the state and Nigeria were overcome in no distance time in order to bolster peace, stability and development.
He, therefore, donated vehicles to each of the local government councils with the exception of Paikoro that was having case concerning its party primary election.
Bago said that until the Court decides the case, it cannot benefit while calling on the council to go ahead to vote APC during the election.
Also, the Speaker of the Niger House of Assembly and Director General of the State APC Campaign Council for the upcoming local government council election, Abdulmalik Sarkin-Daji, expressed his gratitude to party faithful and the people of the state for their impressive turnout.
He said the council elections would be a litmus test of the integrity, capacity, and popularity of the ruling party, assuring that all the APC candidates would be victorious.
The speaker stated that it would serve as a litmus test for the integrity, capacity, and popularity of the ruling party under the leadership of Bago.
APC National Vice Chairman, North-Central, Mu’azu Bawa-Rijau, who represented the National Chairman of the party, said the remarkable achievements of the APC across the nation were a true reflection of the party’s change mantra.
Bawa-Rijau challenged the ruling party to carry everyone along devoid of discrimination to achieve unity and stability of the party to victory.
He maintained that Tinubu and Bago would surely win their second term elections come 2027.
Also speaking, The State APC Chairman, Alhaju Aminu Musa-Bobi, said the party would abide by all the laid-down electoral guidelines and would accept the outcome of the elections
The Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, Sen. Aliyu Abdullahi, called on the residents of the state to reciprocate the efforts of Tinubu and Bago by voting for APC candidates for more dividends of democracy.
The Chairman of the National Population Commission, Alhaji Aminu Yusuf, encouraged all eligible voters to ensure that they vote for APC candidates.
The event climaxed by the presentation of APC flags to all the chairmanship candidates of the party.(NAN)
