A man has stirred widespread reactions online after announcing plans to pursue legal action against his ex-wife, alleging that she used his name as a guarantor for a loan without his knowledge or consent.
In a viral video shared on social media, the visibly frustrated man said he had been receiving repeated calls from loan recovery agents, claiming the situation had become unbearable and was damaging his reputation.
Man alleges ex-wife used his name as loan guarantor
According to him, the latest incident occurred after he received a phone call from an unfamiliar number.
He said the caller informed him that his name had been listed as a guarantor for an unpaid loan.
“When I politely asked who used my name as guarantor, they mentioned my ex-wife’s name,” he said.
The man claimed the repeated calls had reached a point where he believed legal action was necessary.
“This is the point where I have to take legal action because this embarrassment is getting too much,” he stated.
Fears over reputation and future consequences
He expressed concern that being linked to debts he knew nothing about could expose him to unnecessary legal and financial problems in the future.
“If she eventually goes and causes trouble somewhere, it’s the same way they will mention my name and I’ll be put inside trouble,” he said.
He also accused his former spouse of deliberately trying to tarnish his image, saying he could not understand why “somebody can be extremely wicked and want to spoil my name as much as possible.”
Plans to sue ex-wife and loan company
The man further alleged that debt recovery agents frequently called and insulted him and his family despite knowing the identity of the actual borrower.
He said the experience had become especially difficult because he was still trying to rebuild his life.
“I think it’s time I take legal action in two ways — one against her, two against those people that borrowed her money because I don’t know why I’ll be dragged into this,” he said.
He added that he also wanted to ensure his ex-wife no longer bore his surname.
Concluding his remarks, the man appealed to others to be cautious in relationships and marriages, saying, “Please avoid wicked spouses. Avoid wicked spouses.”
