Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has congratulated Oba Rashidi Ladoja on his installation as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadan, expressing confidence that his reign will leave a lasting impact.
Atiku, in a message posted on X on Friday, described the former Oyo State governor as a man with a diverse worldview and wealth of experience that will benefit the ancient city.
“I congratulate my brother and compatriot, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja Arusa I, on his installation as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadan,” Atiku wrote.
The Peoples Democratic Party chieftain said Ladoja’s background as a businessman, politician, and administrator uniquely positions him to succeed in his new role.
“I have no doubt that, just like his tenure as governor created the template for the development of modern Oyo State, Oba Ladoja will create an impact as Olubadan that every son and daughter of Ibadan — and friends of the ancient city like me — would be proud of,” he added.
Atiku also congratulated the people of Ibadan and Oyo State, describing the coronation as the beginning of a “new and glorious era” under Oba Ladoja’s reign.
