The Nigerian Army has cautioned Nigerians against a fake recruitment notice circulating on social media, claiming that application for DSSC 29 (2026) is ongoing.
According to the Army, in a disclaimer signed by Colonel Anele Appolonia, Acting Director of Army Public Relations, the advertisement is false and did not emanate from any authorized military channel.
It said no recruitment or commissioning exercise for the Direct Short Service Commission or Short Service Commission is currently underway.
The Army explained that whenever recruitment is approved, the public will be informed through official platforms and national newspapers.
Reiterating its zero-fee policy, the Army warned applicants not to pay money to anyone under the guise of recruitment.
“The Nigerian Army does not charge any fee for recruitment into its ranks,” the statement said.
The Army urged the public to report fraudsters.
