Commanders of key Combat Service Support (CSS) Corps of the Nigerian Army have embarked on a four-day operational visit to Headquarters, Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI, to assess logistics and medical support with a view to strengthening combat readiness in the region.
The visit, which runs from November 26 to 29, 2025, is aimed at improving the operational effectiveness and efficiency of ongoing counter-insurgency operations through enhanced supply, maintenance and medical services.
The delegation is led by the Commander Corps of Supply and Transport, Major General Nansak Shagaya, alongside the Corps Commander Ordnance, Major General Abdullahi Ibrahim; Commander Corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Major General Adeyinka Adereti; and Commander Corps of Medical, Brigadier General Innocent Enwuchola.
They were received by the Theatre Commander, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, at the Headquarters Theatre Command, Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri, Borno State.
Speaking on behalf of the team, Major General Shagaya said the visit was to conduct an operational logistics assessment across the North East theatre to evaluate the capacity to sustain ongoing and future operations. He commended troops for their sacrifices and urged them to sustain the momentum in the fight against insurgency.
In his remarks, Brigadier General Enwuchola disclosed plans to upgrade the 7 Division Medical Services and Hospital in line with acceptable medical practices. He praised troops for their gallantry and contributions to restoring security in the region.
Major General Ibrahim underscored the importance of logistics in military operations, assuring that identified needs would receive strategic intervention.
Major General Adereti, on his part, reminded commanders that equipment maintenance remained a command responsibility and urged effective utilisation of EME personnel.
Responding, Major General Abubakar expressed appreciation for the visit and pledged continued collaboration to strengthen combat support and service support operations.
The assessment also covers Headquarters 7 Division and Sectors 1, 2 and 3 of Operation HADIN KAI.
