The Commander, Nigerian Army 1 Brigade Gusau, Brig.-Gen. Mustapha Jimoh, has honoured fallen heroes who paid
the supreme prices in the defence of the nation.
The brigade commander stated this in Gusau on Thursday while commenting on the 2026 Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day.
He said, “Today, we are marking Armed Forces Remembrance Day, we honour and remember our gallant heroes who made supreme sacrifices in the defence of our nation’s unity, sovereignty, and peace.
“Their courage, selflessness, and unwavering commitment to duty remain a source of inspiration to all of us in uniform and to generations yet unborn.
“On behalf of the officers and men of 1 Brigade Nigerian Army, covering Zamfara and Kebbi , I salutes our gallant heroes.
“I reaffirm our loyalty to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and our resolve to continue working with sister security agencies, the state governments, and our host communities to ensure lasting peace and security in our Area of Responsibility.”
Jimoh said that the army remained deeply grateful to the Government’s and good people of Zamfara and Kebbi for their consistent support and cooperation.
He added, “May the souls of our fallen heroes rest in perfect peace, and may their sacrifices never be in vain.” (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
