Aregbesola Claims Ruling Party Can’t Rig

The National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rauf Aregbesola, has declared that the ruling government will not be able to manipulate the forthcoming elections, insisting he is familiar with their tactics.

Aregbesola made the remarks on Tuesday in Osogbo during the official unveiling of the ADC in the state. The event coincided with the 15th anniversary of his administration’s inauguration as governor, a date he described as symbolic.

He argued that the ADC offers a credible alternative to Nigeria’s current challenges, including insecurity, poor governance, poverty and hunger.

“Today marks 15 years since we came into Osun State, and our government was sworn in at this very location,” he said. “They cannot rig the election. We know their tactics. Go and take good care of elderly women, clothe them well, let them sit in groups on election day at different polling units — leave the rest to us.”

Aregbesola accused the current administration of failing in critical areas such as the economy, security and governance, alleging that the government’s shortcomings stemmed from “selfishness” and a lack of divine guidance.

“They tried their best, but God is not with them. By August next year, we will meet in Abere, and after August, we will take over the presidency,” he said confidently.

He added that the ADC enjoys broad support across Osun State, saying the achievements and legacies of his administration continue to draw strong public reception, especially in the state capital, Osogbo
