Nollywood actress, Annie Macaulay sparks buzz after confessing about her relationship status at the AFRIMA awards.
The 9th edition of the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) commenced on January 7, 2026, and concluded with the main awards ceremony on January 11, 2026, at the Eko Convention Centre, Eko Hotels and Suites.
Annie Macaulay Speaks On Relationship Status
The actress revealed her relationship status after BBNaija star, Adekunle Olopade asked her on stage.
In response, Annie Macaulay confessed, “He’s a fine young man, though. I’m not going to lie”.
The actress further revealed that she stumbled upon Adekunle’s online stunt, prompting him to respond, “Anything you see there, it’s not me, I’m completely innocent”.
However, Annie Macaulay looked furious when he mentioned ‘innocent.
2Baba Announces Split From Annie Macaulay
It would be recalled that 2Baba and Annie Macaulay’s split was announced in January 2025, with 2Baba confirming their separation and plans for divorce.
The announcement sparked buzz online, with celebrities and fans expressing shock and disappointment.
However, Annie Macaulay publicly confirmed the split in May 2025 at the 17th Headies Awards, where she reintroduced herself using her maiden name
In an interview, 2Baba stated that their marriage wasn’t working anymore and that they had an understanding.
