APC Will Retake Kano in 2027 — Hassan

A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, Mallam Alwan Hassan, has expressed confidence that the party will defeat the ruling New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in the 2027 governorship election.

Speaking with journalists in Abuja, Hassan—who previously served as Special Adviser to former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo—said the APC is consolidating its political structures and uniting key stakeholders ahead of the next poll.

According to him, Kano State needs to “realign with the centre” to accelerate development.
“Just wait and see. APC will take over Kano in 2027,” he declared.

Hassan also withdrew an earlier allegation that senators received a $10 million bribe to block the confirmation of Engr. Ramat Abdullahi as chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).

“I fully retract that statement and offer my sincere apologies to the National Assembly and its leadership,” he said.

He urged lawmakers to proceed with Abdullahi’s confirmation as recommended by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
