The All Progressives Congress (APC) has directed the immediate swearing-in and inauguration of all duly elected Ward, Local Government and State Executive Committee members that emerged from its 2026 congresses nationwide.
In a press statement issued Tuesday in Abuja, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling party said the directive takes immediate effect and must be carried out in line with the relevant provisions of the party’s constitution.
The statement, signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, emphasized that the inauguration should take place “today or soon hereafter” across the country.
According to the party, the newly elected executives emerged from congresses conducted in wards, local government areas and states nationwide.
The APC commended members and stakeholders for what it described as the peaceful conduct of the congresses across the federation.
“Our great Party wishes to thank all members, stakeholders and supporters for the peaceful conduct of Congresses around the country. Congratulations to all,” the statement read.
The party noted that the swearing-in would formally empower the new executive committees to commence official responsibilities at their respective levels.
The APC maintained that the directive is in strict compliance with its constitutional guidelines and internal democratic processes.
Political observers say the move signals the conclusion of the party’s internal restructuring process ahead of forthcoming political activities.
The APC remains Nigeria’s ruling party and has continued to emphasize internal cohesion following its nationwide congresses.
Party sources indicate that state chapters have already begun arrangements to comply with the directive.
The inauguration ceremonies are expected to hold simultaneously in various states.
The party has urged members to remain united and focused as the new executives assume office.
