APC Convention: Haske Applauds Tinubu for Prioritising Youth, Women Inclusion

As the 8th National Convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) wrapped in Abuja on Saturday, a businessman and politician, Abdulrahman Haske has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for re-echoing his commitment to the mainstreaming of the youth and women in the political calculations of the party.

Haske, a governorship aspirant in Adamawa State, who participated actively in the convention, which took place at the Eagles Square, Abuja, over the weekend, thanked the President for his belief in the youth and women in leadership positions.

He noted that the youth and women inclusion in the political and administrative positions in President Tinubu’s administration, has contributed to delivery of dividends of democracy and straitened the confidence of Nigerians across all demographic divides in his administration.

“We have had a productive and well-coordinated APC National Convention with active participation of all members of the party and the President’s speech’s speech offers an elixir and hope to people like me, who project the aspirations of the youth population, representing 60 per cent of the Nigeria’s estimated 200 million population,” he said.

Haske said the President still believes in the strengths of Nigerian youths, whose creativity, innovation, digital fluency, and entrepreneurial spirit remain vital to national progress, describing them as the country’s “hope for a more glorious and assured future.”

“Your creativity, innovation, digital fluency, enterprising spirit, and courage are our greatest national asset. This party must continue to open more doors for our youth participation, not as a prop, but as decision makers,” the President said during the convention.

Addressing Nigerian youths directly, Tinubu emphasised the need for greater inclusion of young people in governance and party structures.

“For the young people of our country and our nation, let me speak directly to you. You are not only the future of Nigeria. You are our hope for a more glorious and assured future,” the President said.

According to Haske, President Tinubu’s emphasis on the importance of nurturing a new generation of politically active and value-driven leaders, further serves as greater encouragement for young Nigerians who look forward to seeking elective positions to contribute their quota to the nation’s development.

He also quoted that President as reiterating the need to nurture a generation of young progressive men and women who are not only politically active, but intellectually grounded, morally disciplined, and nationally committed, acknowledging the President’s resolve that the “future we seek cannot be built without you (the youth) at its centre.”

Meanwhile, Haske has congratulated the new National Working Committee (NWC) and executives of the APC at the state, zonal and national levels for the success of the Convention and implored them to work tirelessly “until we delivery our great party from top to bottom.” He also thanked state and national chieftains for giving him proper recognition at the convention.

He particularly congratulated Governor Ahmadu Fintiri for the mobilisation of party members from Adamawa and other stakeholders to the convention and his steadfast throughout the convention, promising to work with necessary stakeholders for the sustainability of APC in the state.

As deliberations and consultations continue ahead of the 2027 general elections, Haske, said he looks forward to working with all necessary stakeholders across the party divides to ensure Mr President’s aspirations of effectively mainstreaming the youth and women into the political space is encouraged.
