Anambra Man Arrested for Allegedly Killing Relative in Land Dispute

The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 45-year-old man, Okwuchukwu Ezimuo, for allegedly stabbing his relative to death during a quarrel over a family land dispute in Umunocha Village, Awka-Etiti, Idemili South Local Government Area.

Police spokesperson SP Tochukwu Ikenga, who confirmed the incident in a statement on Wednesday, said the suspect attacked the victim, identified as 65-year-old Joseph Dike, on the chest during the altercation on Monday evening. Dike was rushed to a nearby hospital, where a medical doctor on duty confirmed him dead.

Ikenga explained that officers from the Nnobi Divisional Police Headquarters visited the crime scene, collected relevant evidence, and took photographs. The suspect was subsequently arrested and is currently being interrogated.

The police assured residents that investigations are ongoing and pledged to ensure justice is served in the case.
