Anambra Govt Demolishes Chidozie Nwangwu, Popularly Known As “Akwa Okuko Tiwara Aki” Shrine In Oba

According to Daily Trust, The Anambra State Government has carried out the demolition of the shrine belonging to a popular native doctor, Chidozie Nwangwu, widely known as “Akwa Okuko Tiwara Aki,” in Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area. The action followed a High Court judgment delivered on Friday in Awka, which reportedly authorized the state to take decisive steps regarding the property.

The demolition has stirred conversations across Anambra State and beyond, especially given the prominence of the native doctor in the region. Known for his flamboyant lifestyle and strong social media presence, Akwa Okuko Tiwara Aki had built a reputation that attracted followers from different parts of the country. However, state authorities have maintained that the demolition was carried out strictly in compliance with a court ruling.

According to officials, the High Court sitting in Awka granted an order that empowered the government to act on the property. Though full details of the judgment were not immediately made public, sources indicated that the ruling was connected to allegations surrounding activities linked to the shrine. The state government has in recent months intensified its crackdown on criminality, ritual-related activities, and properties suspected to be connected to unlawful practices.

Government representatives emphasized that the move is part of broader efforts to restore law and order and to reinforce the state’s commitment to upholding the rule of law. They stressed that the demolition was not targeted at traditional religion but rather at alleged unlawful activities that may have contravened state regulations.See_More…
