Mrs. Nonye Frances Soludo, First Lady of Anambra State, has fired a strong warning at former Senator Uche Ekwunife, accusing her of crossing the line in attacks on the Soludo family.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Mrs. Soludo said Ekwunife had fabricated malicious claims against her, Governor Chukwuma Soludo, and their children.
She described the actions as “madness taken too far” and warned that she would no longer ignore the allegations.
“This is a woman for whom I have cooked and fed, together with her children, on several occasions. For her to fabricate criminal allegations against me and my children without provocation shows someone who can even kill,” Mrs. Soludo said.
72-hour ultimatum and legal warning
The First Lady accused Ekwunife of a political tactic that targets opponents’ families and said she would not allow it to go unanswered.
She gave the former senator 72 hours to recant her statements and issue a public apology, warning that her lawyers have been put on notice.
Mrs. Soludo also challenged Ekwunife to swear an oath of fidelity and chastity before the Blessed Sacrament in a Catholic cathedral.
She further demanded that their children undergo paternity tests in reputable London hospitals, with all costs covered by Ekwunife.
Integrity and family values
“I pride myself on my chastity. In my 55 years, I have known only one man, Chukwuma Soludo. As a woman of conservative Catholic upbringing, I challenge you to do the same,” she declared.
The First Lady emphasized she has lived a quiet, decent life, never depending on public funds, and maintained fidelity in her 33-year marriage.
She stressed that she has no desire for politics but will defend her family’s integrity at all costs.
Dismissing the attacks
While dismissing Ekwunife’s remarks as “hilarious emotional outbursts and infantile invectives,” Mrs. Soludo maintained that her husband is “too clean, too decent, and too sophisticated to waste his time on low lives.”
