#Amotekun And Others Arrest 62 Suspects For Various Crimes In Ondo—-Western Nigeria Security Network codenamed Operation Amotekun, and other security agencies have arrested 62 suspected criminals in different parts of Ondo State.

Mr Adetunji Adeleye, Commander, Ondo State Security Network made this known while parading the suspects before newsmen on Monday in Akure.

Adeleye explained that the arrest of the suspected criminals followed distress calls received, and surveillance activities of operatives of the Amotekun corps and other security agencies in the state

According to him, Amotekun and all the security agencies in the state, inclusive of the police, the NSCDC, the DSS and the Army, conducted various joint operations to arrest the suspects.

“This ember month patrol is strategic as we are determined to guarantee safety of lives and properties in Ondo State and for those passing through the highways of the state.

“Across the board, we were able to track down about 15 suspected kidnappers. Some of the kidnappers were arrested with the guns they use, and the money received as part of the ransom.

“But, the eagle-eyed operatives were able to arrest some of them, especially, in the Ala/Dada/Ago Oyinbo axis of Akure North Local Government,” he said.

Adeleye also said that the corps also arrested some armed robbers that were actually caught in the act in Akure metropolis, and some who specialised in breaking shops.

The commandant said that another gang which specialised in breaking into homes when the occupants were away for Sunday service was also bursted.

“So, what we are saying in effect is that there is no hiding place for criminals in Ondo State because they will be caught. Therefore, they should leave the state,” he said.

Adeleye, also seized the opportunity to appreciate the public for the support that the corps had received in terms of timely and quality information.

“I want to encourage them to do more while we, the security agencies in Ondo State, are determined to guarantee safety of lives and properties, especially during this yuletide period,” he said.
