Amaechi That Threatened Me With All Powers Has Been Shouting Everywhere That He’s Hungry—Oshiomhole

Senator Adam Oshiomhole, former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and senator representing Edo North Senatorial District, has reflected on the political developments involving some governors who opposed him during his tenure as party chairman.

Oshiomhole made the remarks during an interview on News Central TV on Monday, March 9, 2026, while discussing the internal conflicts that surrounded his removal from the leadership of the ruling party.

According to the former APC chairman, several governors who worked against him politically later faced electoral setbacks after leaving office. “But the good news some of those governors who move against me they went to the polls and they lost,” he said.

Oshiomhole also commented on former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, describing his current political situation as one lacking the influence he once wielded.

“Now the Amaechi that threatened me with all the powers has been shouting everywhere that he is hungry. Not hunger as the masses see it, political hunger. He win power no more he cannot threaten a chicken with political power. He has been taken out of it,” he stated.

He further reflected on Amaechi’s political history, particularly the circumstances surrounding his emergence as governor of Rivers State through a Supreme Court ruling. “Because in truth you look at his history, you find out that he became governor even without being on the ballot. Courtesy of the supreme court whatever he perform it,” Oshiomhole said.

The senator noted that subsequent legal interpretations have clarified electoral requirements, particularly regarding candidates appearing on the ballot. “But the Supreme Court has since revised itself that you can’t be a governor or a senator or anything without being on the ballot,” he added.

Oshiomhole argued that Amaechi’s rise to the governorship represented an unusual moment in Nigeria’s political history. “So Amaechi broke that negative history of becoming governor, even as he was a stranger to ballot,” he said.

He also stated that in later electoral contests where Amaechi participated directly, the outcome did not favor him. “The only time he now ran election proper he lost,” Oshiomhole added.See_More…
