Am Not Afraid Of War, People Have Been Saying Please, Let Us Settle, What Are We Settling?–Umahi

According to a report by Daily Post News, on Sunday, March 01, 2026, David Umahi, Minister of Works, says he remains focused on his official responsibilities and will not be distracted by allegations of a N280 million campaign debt and claims of sexual harassment made against him by Mrs Tracy Nither Ohiri.

He stated that the issues raised are already before a competent court and should be resolved through the legal process.

Speaking at the weekend in Awka, Anambra State, Umahi addressed questions surrounding the allegations and maintained that due process must be allowed to take its course.

He stressed that any individual who makes an allegation carries the responsibility of providing evidence in support of such claims.

The minister said he has confidence in the judicial system and expressed readiness to defend himself within the framework of the law.

He reiterated that his attention remains on national assignments under the Ministry of Works and that he will not allow personal accusations to interfere with his mandate.

Umahi described himself as someone who does not shy away from challenges, stating that his track record in public service demonstrates resilience and determination.

He said attempts to persuade him to seek an informal resolution were unnecessary because the matter has been formally instituted in court.

He emphasised that the allegations must be substantiated with credible proof and insisted that reputation and public office should not be undermined by unverified claims.

He also indicated that the court remains the appropriate venue for clarifying the facts and determining the validity of the accusations.

Addressing supporters and stakeholders present at the event, Umahi restated his position that he would not be intimidated by controversy.

He said, “Everybody that knows me knows that I am David. I am not afraid of war. Some people have been saying please, let us settle. What are we settling? You place something on nothing.”

David Umahi, Minister of Works, maintained that he will continue to carry out his duties while the legal process unfolds, reiterating that the burden of proof rests on the accuser and that the courts will provide the proper platform for the issues to be determined.See_More…
