The widow of late Nigerian boxer Segun Olanrewaju, popularly known as Success, has shared her painful experience following the death of her husband.
In an interview with Punch Newspapers, the woman identified as Maria explained that the situation with her husband’s family became very difficult shortly after the boxer passed away in Ghana during a boxing engagement.
According to Maria, the tension started when she went to inform her mother-in-law about the sad news. She said the atmosphere quickly changed and accusations began to emerge.
While recounting the incident, she revealed that the family began questioning the paternity of her first child.
“After my husband died, his family started questioning whether my child truly belonged to him,” Maria said during the interview.
She explained that before the tragedy, she had moved to her father’s house in December in order to continue her education. During that time, her husband frequently visited his family.
Maria said she became worried when she could not reach him one day. Later, she received a call from a strange number where her husband informed her that he had travelled to Ghana for a boxing match. Not long after that conversation, she received the heartbreaking news that he had died.
Despite the difficulties that followed, Maria said she is determined to move forward with her life.
She is currently studying at Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, where she recently completed her matriculation while raising her children with the support of her father.
Maria said her main focus now is to build a better future for herself and her children despite the challenges she has faced.See_More…
