A delivery man has been nabbed after running away with a customer’s package he was meant to deliver.
The incident, which reportedly lasted three weeks, was shared by a Nigerian man on TikTok, who narrated how the rider disappeared without a trace after collecting the parcel.
According to him, several calls and messages to the rider went unanswered, forcing him to begin an intense search to recover the stolen item.
Man Begins Three-Week Hunt
Refusing to give up, the man and his friends spent weeks tracking down the rider. They reportedly paid for a tracking service, hoping it would reveal the rider’s exact location, but the results were inconsistent.
Despite the difficulties, the group kept investigating until they discovered that the number used by the rider was linked to his girlfriend, a discovery changed everything.
Girlfriend Used to Lure the Rider
Acting smart, the man decided to pose as someone interested in the rider’s girlfriend.
He started chatting with her on TikTok, and through their conversations, she unknowingly gave away details that helped them locate the suspect.
After gaining her trust, they arranged to meet in person. The man then informed his friends and law enforcement officers, who set up a trap. When the rider arrived at the location, he was immediately arrested.
Rider Arrested and Package Recovered
The operation was successful as the stolen package was recovered. The man later shared the story on TikTok, expressing relief that his efforts paid off.
Captioning the video, he wrote: “How we caught a dispatch rider that ran away with our package through his girlfriend. Dispatch rider running away with package. Delivery business owners how do you deal with this situation?”
The video quickly went viral, with TikTok users sharing similar experiences and praising the man for his smart approach.
