A lady has shared an emotional reunion with her father after he was deported to Africa 27 years ago by her mother
Mother’s Actions Led to Deportation
The lady, known on TikTok as @badbeautyqueen, revealed that her father was deported to Guinea when she was just four years old.
She explained that her mother, who was struggling with mental health issues, had him deported “out of spite.”
According to her, her mother even changed her own name and phone number to make it harder for her father to reconnect with her.
Journey to Find Her Father
Determined to locate her father, the lady relied on an ancestry DNA kit and social media platforms to trace her family.
Her search gained momentum after a viral Facebook post connected her with a cousin, who eventually led her to her father.
Emotional Video Call
After years of separation, the TikTok user shared a video call with her father, capturing her joy and excitement.
She narrated how her father had fought for custody of her when she was a child, but her mother’s actions had kept them apart.
“On this call, I finally hear my dad’s voice,” she wrote. “He knew how unwell my mother was. He fought for me… and he won. At 4 years old, he had full custody of me… But in anger, she had him deported back to Guinea. She even changed my name… so he could never find his little girl.”
She further disclosed, “She even called him after she had him deported to confirm where he was, and changed her number. My dad’s last words to my mother were, ‘One day my daughter will find me.’ He was right. He prayed and I prayed. I didn’t know what I was looking for, but whatever I was looking for, I was determined to find it…”
Rediscovering Family
The lady expressed immense happiness at discovering her extended family and emphasized how grateful she was to reconnect.
“I am learning that I have so much family and I am so, so grateful and truly happy that my story has only just begun,” she shared.
Looking Forward to Reunion
Although they have not met physically since her early childhood, the TikTok user looks forward to embracing her father soon.
“I haven’t hugged my dad since I was 4, but soon we will be able to hug each other again,” she said.
