Afia Group CEO Adanla to Be Honored as Giwa Adini of Offa

Engr. Abduljelyl Adekunle Karheem, MCIArb, MCIOB, MCABE, Chief Executive Officer of Afia Group and Mogaji of the Adanla family in Ibadan, will be turbaned as the Giwa Adini of Offa land on Saturday, October 11, 2025.

The ceremony will hold at the Chief Imam of Offa’s Arabic School in Offa, Kwara State.

The appointment was formally conveyed in a letter from the Chief Imam of Offa, Sheikh Muyideen Salman Husain, who praised Karheem’s contributions to the propagation of Islam and service to humanity.

“The office of the Chief Imam of Offa hereby wishes to notify you that you are appointed as the Giwa Adini of Offa in recognition of your contributions toward the propagation of the words of Allah and your meritorious services to Islam and humanity at large,” the letter stated.

Sheikh Husain further noted that the recognition reflects Karheem’s impact not only as an Islamic leader but also as a community figure committed to development and unity.

Over the years, Karheem—popularly known as Adanla—has been actively involved in advancing Islamic causes, demonstrating what the Imam described as “dedication, service, and an enduring spirit of leadership.”

His new title builds on his existing role as Turaki Adinni of Oyo State, a position through which he has worked to strengthen both the Islamic community and his wider environment.

The upcoming turbaning ceremony is expected to draw religious leaders, dignitaries, and community members to celebrate what many describe as a well-deserved honor.
