ADC’s Crisis Self-Inflicted, Says APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has lashed out at the African Democratic Congress (ADC), declaring that the opposition party is solely responsible for its current internal crisis.

In a strongly worded statement issued by its National Publicly Secretary, Felix Morka, the APC described the ADC as “an assembly of confused and desperate politicians,” accusing it of peddling unfounded conspiracy theories about attempts by the ruling party to undermine it.

According to the APC, the ADC was inherently flawed from inception, likening it to a “self-destructive contraption” now unraveling due to its own internal contradictions.

The party further alleged that the emergence of a factional leadership under David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola violated the ADC’s constitutional provisions on leadership succession and disregarded the rule of law.

Reacting to the controversy, the APC maintained that the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to de-recognise the factional executive led by Mark was lawful, justified, and consistent with democratic principles, noting that it stemmed directly from the party’s internal missteps.

“It is highly escapist and irresponsible for the ADC to blame the APC for its internal woes, of which it is the sole architect,” the statement said.

The APC argued that the ADC’s inability to manage its internal affairs and adhere to due process renders it unfit to be taken seriously as a political platform.

“A party that cannot fix itself cannot possibly fix Nigeria,” the APC stated, adding that the ADC has failed to present any meaningful policy direction beyond what it described as “senseless attacks” on the ruling party.

Reaffirming its stance, the APC said its administration under Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains committed to delivering on the Renewed Hope Agenda and strengthening democratic institutions for national development.
